Resolved Question: How do I persuade my mom to let my boyfriend spend a few nights at my house? PLEASE HELP?!?
My boyfriend of 6 months is coming to see me this Christmas. I'm really excited. We're going to spend a day at Disney and do all kinds of stuff around Orlando, where I live. The only problem is... my boyfriend is really struggling with money at the moment due to paying for school, his apartment, and anything else he needs. It's going to cost him enough to either rent a car or pay a friend to borrow their car and then drive from Alabama to Florida. But that's not so much what I'm worried about. The problem for me is, where is he gonna sleep for the 4 nights that he is here? A motel is a little too expensive. So I had an idea. Why doesn't he just stay at my house? I could sleep with my mom in her bed, and he can take my room. It wouldn't cost him a dime, and it would guarantee we would get to spend a lot of time together.
Here's what I need your help with: How do I ask my mom?
Also, my boyfriend DOES have a car of his own. It's just that it runs like crap and it's from 1985, and it's about to be done for any day now. It won't make it here. It barely makes it around where he lives. That's why he's renting or borrowing.

Resolved Question: The Real Martin Luther King?
Read this do you think this is true
The Death of the Dream:
The Day Martin Luther King Was Shot
Left to right: Hosea Williams, Jesse Jackson, Martin Luther King Jr., Rev. Ralph David Abernathy on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel Memphis hotel, a day before King's assassination. April 3, 1968.
The picture above has been shown millions of times. King, the day before his death, greeting his supporters. What is not publicly known is what happened the night before his death. Newsweek magazine from January 19, 1998 gives you a small glimpse of the real Martin Luther King Jr.
Pillar of Fire: America in the King Years, 1963-65.
(book reviews) Jon Meacham
01/19/98 Newsweek, Page 62
January 6, 1964, was a long day for Martin Luther King Jr. He spent the morning seated in the reserved section of the Supreme Court, listening as lawyers argued New York Times Co. v. Sullivan, a landmark case rising out of King's crusade against segregation in Alabama. The minister was something of an honored guest: Justice Arthur Goldberg quietly sent down a copy of Kings account of the Montgomery bus boycott, "Stride Toward Freedom," asking for an autograph. That night King retired to his room at the Willard Hotel. There FBI bugs reportedly picked up 14 hours of party chatter, the clinking of glasses and the sounds of illicit sex--including King's cries of "I'm f--ing for God" and "I'm not a Negro tonight!"
Note: What is not mentioned in this article is that Martin Luther King was having sex with three White women, one of whom he brutally beat while screaming the above mentioned quotes. Much of the public information on King's use of church money to hire prostitutes and his beating them came from King's close personal friend, Rev. Ralph Abernathy (pictured above), in his 1989 book, "And the walls came tumbling down."

Resolved Question: What's the best way to fund a road trip through America?
Me and my girlfriend live in the UK and have both visited places in America - but there are still places we want to visit.
like... New England, New Orleans, Texas, Indiana, Miami, San Francisco, Alabama etc and we want to do a road trip.
I think it's probably best to buy a little car as that will be cheaper but as we won't have a forever supply of money, i just wondered if its possible to earn a little bit of money on the way?
like farm hands, anything really, just for gas money, food and motels etc.
any tips or advice would be great.
Many thanks

Resolved Question: can you please read my story and tell me what you think?its called The story of a girl.thanks.?
1.leaving
I had been ready forever. And now the time had come,my best friend Taelor was taking me to freedom.
Today was the day,I had been waiting on this day for eight years now, practically a third of my life. This had been my goal ever since I was thirteen.I wanted nothing more.
Nothing more than to leave my hometown.I fell onto my unmade bed and stared at the ceiling. My bags were packed,my closets were empty.I never wanted to visit this place again.
Phenix city,Alabama would never again be considered my place of residence.
While I laid on my bed waiting for the taxi, thoughts of my childhood ran through my mind.
Okay,so there were some good times, but I knew if I was to stay,I would always regret it.I would become just like all the other miserable people who never wondered past Alabama State lines.
I wanted to leave and never again come back to this crappy town.
The honking of the cabbie's loud broken down car, jarred me out of my daydreaming.I jumped up,nearly tripping over myself getting to the window.
"I'll be right there."
I grabbed my bags, looking around my empty room one last time, and then rushed out the front door.I would never look back.
It never ceased to amaze me at how calm a cabbie could be,when you knew what they where thinking.Always wondering what your doing or what your up to.
But he just smiled at me as I threw my bags in the trunk, slammed it and jumped in the back seat.
"Airport,please."
Before I could even put my seat belt on,the cabbie had already shifted into gear and we were racing down the road leading from my old house to another road that would lead us to the highway, that would finally get us to the airport.
I had my tickets and a motel booked for a one night stay on the other end.I was giving myself two weeks to find a job to get a car and pay Taelor rent like I promised.
I thought of all the places I would see,all the people I would meet, all of the adventures that Me and Taelor would have.
The jerk of the taxi's broken down car brought me down to reality. We had arrived at the airport. The feeling of my insides coming up my throat any second now.
And I didn't know why I was having this feeling. Was it me being over excited,or my fear of flying.
I threw four twenty's in the front seat of the cab.And got out of the car.The cabbie was already at the trunk getting my luggage for me.
"Thank you,"I said with a smile.
"You're welcome, miss,"he said getting back in the taxi.
I took one last look of the city I would never return to.And entered the plane. The plane started to move.I put my hands over my ears at the screeching sound of the tires. And we were off.
Away from my hometown.Away from Phenix city,Alabama.Away from the place that I wished with all my heart that I would never have to see again.
It takes twenty-nine hours and thirty six minutes from Phenix city to LA.And I was already feeling the motion sickness creeping up on me.
So I decided it was time for me to take my Dramamine pills.I was all ready feeling nauseated from when we started to take off.Right on que the flight attendant was coming by.
"Excuse me,miss,"I said a little light headed.
"Yes,can I get you something."
"Actually a bottle of water would be great."
"Okay,I'll be right back,"she said smiling as hugely as she could.
I started to feel my stomach drop.Maybe I should of been smarter and took the pills before I got on the plane.Maybe it was a mistake to take the plane, but how else would I get to LA.
And I was one hundred and ten percent sure I was not going to stay in that hell hole of a town.
"Here you are ma'am,a bottle of water,is there anything else I can get you.
"Thanks,but I'm good for now."
"You're welcome,"she said has she was walking down the other isle.
I quickly grabbed my Dramamine pills out of my peruse. And took out two pills and chugged it down with my water.Feeling embarrassed by me not having any manners.
I laid back against the dark blue swave seat.Luckily I had both seats to myself.I was starting to feel drowsy .I was just about to dowse off, when a guy with dark brown hair, bushy eyebrows, and some morning stubble on his chin.Turned around to stair at me.
"Hi,I'm Bentley,"he said with a very cute dimpled smile.
"Hi."
"So I was just wondering, could you loan me a few of your Dramamine pills.
I didn't have anytime to get me any at the gift shop. And I'm feeling so light headed its killing me."
"Sure,"I couldn't help myself, but to smile that smile just about every girl got when talking to a guy they liked. But I didn't know this guy Bentley well enough to like him.Maybe I took to many pills.Or I was just being paranoid.
"Here."
"Thanks, and your name is,"he said smiling that gorgeous dimpled smile again.A matter of fact I am paranoid,I just fall for guy's to easily.
"I'm Allison."
"Well, miss. Allison you do have a last name don't you."
"Well let me rephrase that.I'm Allison Wood. And don't you Mr. Bentley have a last name."
"How rude of me.I'm Bentley Anderson."
okay there is a real place called Phenix city,Alabama, and yes that's how you spell,
but I'm only thirteen and I just posted some of this on there and no one took me seriously because I'm only thirteen.what do you think do you think it could get published.
this is going to be a romance story.and this bentley guy is only going to be in the plain flight.
and it's about a girl named Allison living her hometown to live in La.and after she moves in with her best friend Tealor, she runs into some famous actor.....and not so soon but start to fall in love....
this story is not going to be anything like this:A pore some town girl meets rich handsome actor and falls in love.there's going to be lots of drama, and more then one guy in Allison's life.and this is all I have wrote so far, should I continue or just stop wasting my time.
sorry I'm like half a sleep right now
sorry for mistakes and/or grammar problems.

Resolved Question: Cousin Suddenly Showed Up. HELP!?
When I was a kid I had a cousin who was 10 years old older then me. He was mental and very annoying. He never would leave me alone when he visited (he lives in Alabama, I live in Connecticut). I put up with him until I was 18. I decided to keep him out of my life. I have been married twice and he wasn't invited to either weddings. I had two kids from my first marriage(almost 2 and 3), plus I raise my 5 year old niece and my current husband had three kids from a previous marriage(ages 5, almost 9 and 12). In January we had a child together. We are very happy family.
Now, out of the blue, for the first time in 11 years, he comes and sees me, without calling. His reason for coming is that he heard I had a new baby (I didn't tell him and I don't know who did). He expects to stay at my house. One, I don't want him here. Two, I have no more room. We have no guest rooms at this time. My almost two year old and three year old are even sharing a room until we can finish renovating the attic so my three year old can have her own room and the two five year old girls started rooming together a month ago because the roof leaked in my niece's room and it's taking forever to repair and repaint. When I told him there was no room, he said he'd sleep on the couch. But I don't want him here! My husband at first thought he was nice, then he realized what I meant. So my husband, nicely, asked how long he planned on staying. He informed us he'd be staying for a month, maybe two. I asked why. He told me that he just wanted to see me. OK, I can tolerate that. If he was staying in a motel and just for a few days.
What can we do? I've offered to get him a motel room, but he said "I want to be around you and your family."
Him being here has reminded me of how upset I would be when he visited. I'm almost thirty now and I'm upset I still can't handle it. I don't want to call the cops, but I don't know what else to do. He's bugging my older step-kids (the almost 9 year old and 12 year old) to the extreme. The almost nine year old actually asked me if she could spend the night at her friend's until he left!
PLEASE HELP!
I put this in Grade Schooler because it's affecting my kids, not just me.
What reasons should I give? I find you annoying?

Resolved Question: Is this too tacky of a naming idea...?
Okay, so I've moved a lot in my life, and obviously I've enjoyed some places more than others. Now, for some city / state names, it's cute, nice, respectable. But some people go too far. (*Ahem* To people naming their children Colorado, Alabama, and Afghanistan.)
There are some places I've lived that I'd never even consider naming a child -- Super 8 Motel, for instance. (It was on my list a few years back, but I scrapped it. *Just kidding!*) But there are some names I've naturally loved that happen to be names of where I've lived.
I lived in Shelby, North Carolina; and I love the names Shelby and Caroline. I previously lived in a town called Clarence.
Do you think it would be tacky to have children named Shelby and Clarence, when they're obviously places I've lived before? Advice and thoughts on this would be helpful -- thanks!

Resolved Question: Gulfshores, AL. Honeymoon?
Me and my fiance' are planning on going down to spend our honeymoon at Gulfshores. I have a couple questions. 1. How are the beaches after Katrina, I hear Alabama didn't get affected to bad like Mississippi did. 2. How crowded are the beaches, we prefer not overly crowded places, any recommendations? 3. Are there any motels or cheaper hotels (under $100 a night) either on the beach or across the street from the beach. 4. What are some good activities this city have to offer? Any neat attractions? (Historical or amusement) Any casinos? etc... 5. What are some good restaurants.
