Resolved Question: 2. Creationists and alleged degrees..?

Did you know about these two creationists questionable credentials..? 1. RICHARD BLISS, formerly a member of the ICR staff, claimed to be "a recognized expert in the field of science education" and was co-author of a "two-model" book that creationists have pushed for use in the public school system. Bliss claimed to earn a D.Ed. from the University of Sarasota in 1978. A previous version of this article described the university as a "diploma mill operating out of a Florida motel" as late as 1984. However, the university's status has since improved. The University of Sarasota was accredited in 1990 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to grant masters and doctoral degrees. According to the 1997 edition of Bears' Guide to Earning College Degrees Nontraditionally [1], a student's total residency at the University of Sarasota can be as short as six weeks. 2. CLIFFORD BURDICK, a researcher for the Creation Research Society and a member of the Creation-Science Research Center, is a "flood" geologist who has spent forty years trying to prove that giant humans once roamed the earth and even mingled with the dinosaurs. Burdick has displayed a copy of his Ph.D. from the University of Physical Sciences (Phoenix, Arizona) in Carl Baugh's Glen Rose Creation Evidence Museum. According to Ronald Numbers' The Creationists [2]: "[Creationist Walter Lammerts'] inquiries revealed the University of Physical Science to be nothing more than a registered trademark. As described in its memographed bulletin, 'The University is not an educational institution, but a society of individuals of common interest for the advancement of physical science. There are no campus, professors or tuition fee.'" Thank you

Resolved Question: Where should I take my girl?

I'm with this girl.....she's amazing....I love being with her. Well, with the way our parents are, we are dating secretly. She and I want to get away for a few days, just the two of us. We live in Phoenix, Arizona, near Maryvale High school. She is 15, I'm 17. I have a car and I can get a couple hundred bucks, but I have a two questions for you all. 1) Where are some good places to go and be together for a few days? (I'm open to out of state, just not more than a couple hundred miles.) 2) Do motels / hotels rent rooms to teens our age? (The only ID that we'd have is my license and possibly her permit.) We both realize that we'll be screwed once we return home, they may find out about us. We know the consequences, we've discussed them and still want to get away together. I would really appreciate your advice and answers. Comment freely. Thank you :)

Resolved Question: Housing for seasonal workers on Cape Cod?

Hi! I am moving to Cape Cod this April with a friend to work in a restaurant during their "season". My question is about housing. We will be returning back to Arizona probably in October and we don't want to do an apartment lease for six months. We aren't quite sure where to look for places to stay while we are there. I know Cape Cod has a large amount of seasonal employees and I was wondering where they stay while they are there if they don't commute back to the city or wherever? I've looked on craigslist, but much of what they offer in terms of seasonal housing are cottages, vacation rentals, etc....and really expensive! We are looking for the bare minimum (preferrably 2 beds, possibly small kitchen). We are trying to figure out how much money to save (since we leave in two months) and if I could figure out how much housing would cost for when we get there, it would be alot easier to surmise how much I should save. Do motels, by chance, let you rent by the month? I've tried calling restaurants out there to inquire what their seasonal employees do, but none are open at this time of year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Resolved Question: Dream about interstate highways...?

I have this recurring dream that I would drive in the country in New Jersey (I live in Ohio and will be moving to Arizona in a year), and on my way to NYC, There are several roads I got lost on. I would be driving one minute, walking the next. I am back to my childhood home in Louisiana (in real life, it was.) I would walk, get lost, in the country. After walking in the country for about a half hour, I ended up in a bad area, the ghetto, with seedy motels and strip club dives. I ran, and would almost go into circle, seeing familiar stores, my old high school, places I went to as a kid, but never got home. I keep seeing signs of the interstate highways. It wasn't just one, like I-10, and that's it. It's like there are twenty of them on one post, almost like a grid. Then I am back to driving. I ended up in a busy city, a freeway or interstate, with dozens of overhead signs pointing to odd directions. Then I woke up. Same dream again and again. I am a 31 year old white male.

Resolved Question: How can I get my character in trouble?

I need to get my female character in some kind of serious jeopardy but I'm struggling to come up with anything in her current situation. She's outside a motel in Arizona at night time. There's no-one else about. What could possibly go wrong? I'm thinking perhaps a run-in with a rattlesnake or coyote, but I wondered if any of you creative types had any better ideas.

Resolved Question: Southwest trip in February, any tips or suggestions?

Am wondering about weather conditions for the following trip. Will be flying into Mesa from Fargo, ND on February 6th and renting a car(what kind of vehicle would you suggest for the following trip, I'm from northern Minnesota and drive a front wheel drive vehicle there). Will be heading north to the Grand Canyon on the 7th, then west towards Kingman, AZ for the night. Next day to Las Vegas and northeast to Utah hoping to make it to Page, AZ the next night. Then over to the 4 Corners and south to Gallup, NM for the next night. West to the Petrified Forest and then south to Tuscan, AZ. Haven't reserved motels yet as the travel plans are flexible as of now. I am wondering about info on weather conditions (temps/ snow chances/ road hazards) for the trip up to the Grand Canyon from Mesa, west towards Kingman, then through southern Utah, northern, northeastern and eastern Arizona and northwestern New Mexico. Any and all info and suggestions are a great help. Thanks and have a great day!
