Granby is one of the top tourist destinations of Colorado. It is a city full of history and at the same time enjoys a modern cosmopolitan atmosphere. The old town has some of the finest historical architecture, in contrast with the gleaming modern structures in the new town.

You can get there by flying on a Colorado Airline which offer budget flights daily to a nearby airport. Alternatively you can take a train or Greyhound bus from a number of other destinations.

You can stay in one of Granby's many elegant resort hotels, or for the budget traveler, the city offers a number of inns and motels. If you are staying longer, you might consider renting a holiday condo or apartment.

When you are in Granby you can simply enjoy the sun, or there are a number of other opportunities for sightseeing - a visit to the city's museums and galleries is always worthwhile. Alternatively you could explore the narrow streets of the old town on foot, shopping for souvenirs in the many charming designer boutiques. On Sundays the central park is always full of young people who meet for picnics under the shady trees. For the more active, there are opportunities to play golf or tennis. Those who enjoy water-sports can go fishing or swimming. You will probably want to hire a yacht or motor cruiser for the day to reach the best locations.

Getting around Granby couldn't be more easy. The city is well served by taxicabs and a modern bus network. If you want to venture further afield you might hire a car and take of to see the sleepy villages in the Colorado countryside, or drive to the coast to while away the afternoon in one of the many secluded areas along the coastline.

Granby comes to life in the evening. The city has dozens of excellent bistros, delis, and restaurants, and there are many lively bars and clubs to while away the night into the early hours of the morning.

Whatever your interest, Granby, Colorado, has something unique to offer.

Resolved Question: How can I keep my oversensitive mom from dissappearing?

I am a Sixteen year old Male( Born in September 30, 1993), and my mom has dropped out of high school in her Freshman year, had an abusive stepfather, who she says "Molested" her, and has been struggling with drugs all her life. I am her only son, and she had two other daughters. Well, About four years ago, she asked my adoptive parents to let me stay at her house in Texas (We live in Colorado Springs), and she was so hurt over it that she did not talk to ANY of her children for FOUR years! She had stopped taking hallucinagines, but had not stopped smoking, or drinking, or gambling(She even took me to a store to watch her gamble, and made me SWEAR I would not tell her new husband, Larry that she was gambling.), She has had several failing relationships, and is a very VERY sensitive Woman. When I finally talked to her about last weekend, she said that she was so hurt my parents would not let me stay with her over the summer, that she was willing to stop talking to us altogether for four YEARS! I started thinking about inviting her over for a week(in a motel this time) to visit, but I'm afraid she will try again, and then get dissappointed again, and then DISSAPPEAR again! How can I get her to stop this destructive behavior? Obviously, She feels torn that I cant be with her, but she has family issues, alcoholism, and painful trauma. I'm trying not to provoke her, because right now, she's obviously not stable enough for it! I just wanna make her happy.......You know, without getting her hopes up!

Dose any one have any suggestions on where i can look to find a place. it seems like a long way off now, but trying to get things squared away so i know who to call when the trip comes. Resolved Question: What would be a super cheap, low key place to take my bf during spring break '10 in the U.S.?

This is going to sound crazy, lol, but I just won $2500 on a lottery ticket. No shit. I've been dreaming for the last 2 years to bring my bf to the states. He lives in Uganda (we met during an internship I had where he works 2 summers ago). I didn't think I'd be able to bring him here until after I graduated college and the whole shebang. I've already got this year and next year paid for through scholarships (I also found out I won another $1500 scholarship today!!) and so I'm thinking to hell with it, I'm only going to live once...and this is something I've always dreamed of being able to do. All of that said, I go to school in south-central Colorado and I would fly him in to New York. I check all of the time on flight prices and, after accounting for roundrtip airfare, visa fees, getting him to the embassy and airport, and all of that, I'd have about $500 left over (super low estimate). I make $500/month while in college and could easily save another $1500 towards the trip, for a total of $2000 to pay for airfare for me wherever we'd go, busfare for him to get to where we go (I'd fly him in a few days early), hotel, expenses, and food. Thoughts on where we ought to go? I'm cool with sleeping at a Motel 6 and the fanciest restaurant in town being Red Lobster--I was raised on those kinds of vacations. I don't want to go to your typical SB destination--aka, any place with a beach, drunken teens everywhere, and no hotels less than $150/night. Here are the things I'd like: hotel fare for <$120/night (for one week) good public transportation or many things within walking distance decent sights if in the city, or cheap-but-romantic if in the boonies cheap, low-key atmosphere. I'm open to pretty much anywhere, though someplace east of CO is preferred since I'll most likely fly him into NY. Thanks!

Resolved Question: this is a kind of a spiritual type of question, i was born in uruguay which is in south america,?

my family came to live in NYC when i was 7 1/2 yrs old. i have not been back since not even for a visit, im in my late 40's now, when i was in my early 30's i was living in syracuse NY and i met this person at church from orlando, i went to orlando for about 2 months but later i went back to syracuse NY, her father was in orlando and she went back there and i went to visit for 2 months, anyways, i went to Benny Hinns church for a while and one time when i was talking to someone from Benny hinn's church, this guy from the single's group, i dont remember what i was talking about but he mentioned something about missionary work in uruguay, what was weird was i never told him i was born there, not sure what this means. Right now i work for a YMCA resort in colorado, and they hire people from all over the world. theres been times when ive thought of asking them about maybe working for a YMCA down where i was born, but i wasnt for sure so i never asked, ive been working for YMCA resorts since 1997, a couple of months ago, a couple of yrs ago, i had this desire to go visit uruguay, got a passport and everything , wrote a letter to my uncle and told him i wanted to visit, he said it was too dangerous and not to come, so i didn t go, one time last february, i sent another letter to my aunt and uncle and just wondered how they were doing since i havent heard from them in a long time, told him since he had parkinson's to have one of his two daughters write me back, one of my cousins wrote me and gave me her email, so i emailed her back, weve written several times but not often enough, since february weve been emailing almost every day, i love it since i never really got to know her since she was 5 when i left. dont remember much, anyways, about 2 months ago, one of my brothers, i have two of them, send me an email saying they were all going to uruguay at christmas and wanted to know if i was free to go with them, my sister's going too, i have a twin sister, one of my brothers is married with two little girls and theyre going too, i dont even have to spend a dime, my brothers are buying our tickets which is real nice and paying motel bills, they have good jobs working on their own with computers, i thought about asking my job again if i should switch maybe to a y in uruguay but something tells me maybe i should go slow and actually visit the place before i decide, do you think God's telling me to go there? and live there for a reason? not sure why, i know i should pray more and read the bible more and go to church more, im not very good at those things. but i have wondered if im living in the wrong part of the world because it was so sudden the way my brothers invited me and my sister to go there for a wk at christmas time, it was kind of unexpected , it was a nice surprise cause it seemed like God was also changing my uncles mind about me going there but i guess its different since im not going alone, I think I need to see the place first before i take action but i wondered is God trying to tell me something? not sure what. I know this is a bit long but ive wondered about this for a while. and yes i did take my brothers up on their invitation and im looking forward to seeing relatives i havent seen since i was a child and some ive never met. what do you think?

Resolved Question: How to find a cheap vacation home to rent in Santa Fe over Christmas for 1-2 weeks?

Hi there, I am interested in going with my family to Santa Fe, New Mexico for Christmas and we were thinking that renting a house for one or two weeks would be cheaper than a hotel and motel, we are four people, all over age 19. We are picking Santa Fe because my mother can drive there from Colorado Springs so we can have a car for us to use, if you think of another better or similar place we should go instead to save some money but still relax and have fun let me know! Thanks :)
