Resolved Question: Cheap motels near Anaheim/Orange area?

I'm going to be staying at least from April 22nd to April 26th, possibly longer, although there is a vague possibility of checking out a day or two early if I am offered a place to stay by a relative. I DO NOT CARE if there is a layer of filth on the floor, I'm cuddling rats, and playing whack-a-mole with cockroaches. I do not care if the staff is rude. I do not care if I have to do an Olympic-worthy run through a bevy of hookers and drug dealers to get to my room. I want a bathroom (preferably with a tub), electricity, and a bed. Don't even need a tv, though I'd imagine its pretty standard. I've had pretty dark times in my past, so rest assured that such an environment wouldn't ruin my vacation at all; I'm trying to avoid sleeping in my car, because I think that would. In the past, when I've gone places, I've done internet research on motels and hotels, and always found something cheaper advertised on a sign when I got there . . . I remember once stopping in Illinois and a front desk staff member assuring me I'd find nothing cheaper than his $55 a night. At the next interstate exit, I found one for $24. In my experience the cheapest rooms are unknown motels that don't show up online, so I'm sort of interested in those. It's just me staying and I am a smoker so a smoking room is ok, but I don't smoke inside at home so a nonsmoking room is fine as well. No pets. No need for amenities. Anything within about 15 miles is good; further is also ok if its cheap enough to make up for gas. I plan to go to Disneyland or other touristy places, but the primary function of the trip is meeting long-lost family. I've found a room that is listed as $35 for weekdays and $40 for the weekends; after taxes the four-night stay comes to about $168. I know that's not bad, but I've already taken too many "little luxuries" regarding this trip. I didn't do comparative rates on my rental car at all, so I'm trying to trim the fat. Thanks.

Resolved Question: Question about impounded animal?

Ok, my husband and I went to NC and Ohio a few weeks ago. We spent the night in Illinois, at a Motel 6, on the way back on Oct. 31st. Please read the entire thing, or don't bother answering. Calling me names and all that is totally inappropriate and will be reported and only proves you to be stupid and ignorant. Today we got a letter in the mail saying this from the Winnebago County Animal Services in Rockford, Ill. That's where we stayed. "An animal identified as yours was impounded at Winnebago County Animal services on 11/01/09. Under Illinois State Statutes your animal will be held for a stray period of four (4) business days during which time you may reclaim your animal." Then they give the hours to come in and reclaim it. "You have until the close of business on 11/07/09 to reclaim your animal or to sign an ownership release. Please provide proof of current rabies vaccination and and registration, as well as proof of ownership at the time you reclaim your animal. If you fail to reclaim your animal or you sign an ownership release by the above date3, your animal will become the property of Winnebago County Animal Services to be disposed of as we deem necessary, to include either adoption or euthanasia." Ok, here's the deal. Whatever animal they got isn't ours. I called them and left a message saying that. Our two dogs traveled with us, and we still have them. Is there anything else I can do? And will this screw us up in adopting from shelters in the future? We are into adopting from rescues. My biggest question is..how in the world could this have happened? I guess I'll have to go to my vet tomorrow and have them fax proof to Illinois that this wasn't my animal. Yes, both of my dogs are licensed in my state. Actually they are city licenses. Oops! I meant we stayed at a Motel 6 in Rockford, Ill. Not at the Winnebago County Animal Services..oops. Yes, sometimes having an animal taken in by a pound/shelter will screw one up in being able to adopt in the future. To clarify..I CANNOT go to the pound there. It's in Illinois, and we live in North Dakota. It's not like it's a 20 minute drive. We're talking a few states away. The animal was turned in in Illinois. We live in ND. Only stayed in Illinois one night on the way back. Yes, I'm sure it's real. Has the state seal, gives the address and phone number. Yes, I'm sure it's real. Has the state seal, gives the address and phone number. The only thing I can think of is Motel 6 might have turned the animal in, thinking it was ours. Khayos, just what are you talking about? You must have meant your rant for someone else. But as for emails, I don't think you can report them. Just block whoever is sending them to you. Ok, I think I remember you. What I sent wasn't hate mail. It was information. And yes, I got the right person. But I don't allow for anyone to email me generally, because I've been called so many names, this, that, and the other thing. I even say that on my profile. You said that every living creature wants to reproduce, and I sent you facts stating that wasn't true.

Voting Question: Emergency Trip To Chicago?

Hey guys! So I have a question. One of my VERY good friends is moving back home to Texas from Chicago in a couple of weeks. She called me the other day and wanted to know if I would be willing to fly up to Chicago help her move some stuff, then UHAUL it back down to the Lone Start State. She's offered to pay for the ticket (which she booked today), pay for the UHAUL, pay for food, pay for a motel (just in case we get tired), drive me all the way home from after we unload the stuff at her parents house. Now, I am poor but not that damn poor. She offered to pay me well to help her move. She's desperate to get the hell out of Illinois and come back due to personal reasons. I am willing to help her which is no big deal. I requested off from work. The question is: should I take her up on all of her offers? I don't want to seem needy and I am helping her out. But I am really poor and use a few extra bucks and I don't mind shelling out for the gas and a meal here and there. How can I go on this trip and not seem needy or selfish? I don't want to seem greedy and what not. She says money is not a problem for her but once she gets home it's back to looking for another job. . . any ideas? Thanks! P.S. She's even driving me back home which is two hours out of her way when we get back to TX. I mean wow! . . . I feel kinda like a user even if she offers.

Resolved Question: OMG! did you hear what happened to ryan on megan wants a millionaire..Rip..does anyone know who finally won?

VH1 has canceled the reality TV show "Megan Wants a Millionaire" after a man featured in the program was charged with killing his wife. On Sunday, Ryan Alexander Jenkins was found dead in Canada, an apparent suicide. Jenkins, a real estate developer and investor, had gone on the run after reporting the disappearance of his wife, Jasmine Fiore, the evening of Aug. 15. ยป Click to enlarge image Her nude body had been found that morning, stuffed in a bloodstained suitcase in a trash bin outside Los Angeles. Canadian authorities said Jenkins' body was found in a motel in British Columbia. They gave no other details. Jenkins was one of 17 bachelors vying for the love of former "Rock of Love" contestant Megan Hauserman on "Megan Wants a Millionaire" before VH1 pulled the show off the air and iTunes. In three episodes that aired, Jenkins was billed as the "smooth operator" from Canada worth $2.5 million. Hauserman, a 2005 accounting graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, is a veteran of several reality shows who won $125,000 on the CW's "Beauty and the Geek." The company that produces "Megan Wants a Millionaire," 51 Minds, said a background check on Jenkins did not turn up his 15-month probation sentence in 2007 on an assault charge in Calgary, Alberta. "Obviously, if the company had been given a full picture of his background, he would never have been allowed on the show." Fiore, a model, met Jenkins in Las Vegas in March, soon after he completed filming the reality show, and married him weeks later. shocking...

Resolved Question: Staying overnight at Six Flags Great America parking lot?

I love Six Flags Great America in Illinois, and was considering getting a season pass with the money from all the stuff I've been selling recently, but the problem it that it's a whopping 2 hours from where I live now, not counting construction delays. I have a few questions, but they're all related: 1. Does Great America just close the park at closing time, or does it close the parking lot too? 2. How illegal would it be to spend the night in my car in a parking lot (provided that the parking lot stays open)? As in, if a security guard or cop happened to walk by and see me sleeping in the car, would they just ask me to move somewhere elese, or would I get arrested or something? 3. Is there any parking lot near Great America that I could park in overnight? The reason I'm asking is because I'm considering just going there at park opening one day, spending the entire day there, spending the night somewhere in the area, and then spending another day at the park before heading back home. This is all to avoid spending the $50 for one night at the nearest motel.
