Resolved Question: Summer-long road trip across America: price?
3 of my friends and myself are planning on taking a summer-long road trip next year. We're giving ourselves three months but we're going to take our time in some places. Would it be possible to take a car? Or should we buy a van/suv? How much gas money do you think we should bring? Has anyone gone across country in a car and camped and stayed in cheap motels? We're going from maryland to florida, across the south to baja CA, up the west coast to Seattle, then east across the northern states, to maine, and then back down the east coast to MD. How much per person would it cost do u think for food/gas/motels/misc? Any input or advice would help. Thanks so much.
oh i know it's not in the US, but we still want to visit. and 10,000 per person? or total? 10k sounds like a lot per person if we have our own car

Resolved Question: Transportation from Silver Spring,MD to Cumberland, Maryland?
I need to get to Allegany College in Cumberland,MD from Silver Spring, MD. I know Amtrak goes there but their only train there leaves from Silver Spring at 4pm and gets there at 7 pm. The registration office is only open from 8am-4pm. I tried to talk to them but they said they can't do anything about it. If I take the train I'd have to stay at a motel overnight and stay Saturday all day because the only Amtrak train leaves at 9am. Greyhound use to go to Cumberland but it doesn't anymore. I don't have anyone to drive me there. Does anyone know of any buses like Greyhound that get anywhere near Cumberland,MD or any of its surrounding cities? Or any other way to get to Cumberland MD or nearby, besides driving or Amtrak because neither one of them work for me. Thanks a ton for all your help!
