Resolved Question: Where's a cheap place to stay in Montana?

A hotel, a chalet, a motel, anything really just something cheap. Me and a few friends are driving down from Canada for skiing and on a teenagers budget we need to cut some costs. Oh, uh, we're going to Whitefish.

My friend Sam and I live in Montana . We took Sam’s son, Ben, to South Dakota this month . Most of the money Sam took was on a a debit card from his bank . We took tour bus # 1 on Monday . The driver charged according to mileage and time spent, so we couldn’t get a fixed amount to begin with . We took tour bus # 2 to Mount Rushmore on Tuesday . This tour charged a fixed rate for every passenger, so we knew exactly how much it was going to be . We ALMOST took tour bus # 1 to Deadwood on Wednesday, but the driver wasn’t set up to take debit or credit cards . Sam couldn’t get a cash advance from an ATM machine, our motel couldn’t give Sam a cash advance, and the banks probably weren’t open at that point . This tour bus driver found us another tour that could take debit or credit cards . THIS tour charged according to the mileage she drove, the time she spent, expenses, and for the number of passengers, so, again, we couldn’t get a fixed amount to begin with . The first two tours really weren’t too expensive, but the third tour really laid us low financially . Sam had to call his sister, and she put enough money on his card to where we could eat until we got home . Sam’s sister gave him a small lecture ( “You should have spent your money wisely !” ) . I figure things like this can happen to anybody, no matter how wisely they spend their money . These tours can’t always give you an idea of how much they’re going to charge . You can also run into an unexpected expense . Did we do so bad ? Couldn’t this have happened to anybody ? Did we spend our money foolishly, or did events conspire against us ? Did you ever run out of money when you were traveling ? What did you do ?

I'm traveling a lot right now. We've driven from Manitoba to Saskatchewan, Alberta, Montana, Wyoming, back to Alberta, British Columbia, and we're currently in the Canadian Northwest Territories. (I'm Canadian, not American). We are going to be going to the Yukon and back to British Columbia before going back home in Manitoba. I am staying at motels/hotels with wireless internet for my laptop, like right now, but whenever I try to upload photos to facebook using the full uploader (got a lot of photos and I have the necessary requirements [active X, Java version]) it fails. Everything else on the internet works, except that. Why?

Hi friends on Yahoo! So this coming Feb. 2010, my Hubby, 2 year old son, and I are planning a trip to see my mom in Montana. We live in Florida and we want to drive. So here are the details... to rent a car for 15 days from Avis is around $450 not including additional things that are advised further I mapquested the miles and time...its a 38 hr & 42 min. trip $224.25 at 30 miles to a gallon.( i estimate $250 in gas just incase) I plan to pack ALOT of dry foods like granola, dried fruit,cookies,crackers, and special foods for my son..along with gallons of water and some added drinks/milk for our kid.we stop to eat for dinner.( $1 menu!) Ok, then we estimate Days Inn at $50-$55(they have free breakfasts!) for the night, we plan to stay maybe 1-2 times at a motel/hotel or sleep in our car if we both cannot switch off driving any longer.and to shower/bathe our child. OK, and the same coming home. While we are there,we hope to travel to Canada for the day. It takes about 4 hours from my Mom's town. (Fort Benton-Alberta) The gas is about $20 to get there according to mapquest. So, is it really cold in Feb in both Montana and Canada?? Do we need a passport to enter Canada( to be safe, we should get one right?)and what are some tips on road travel if i have forgotten anything? do i need a special car to rent upon driving through snow if there is any at that time?

Resolved Question: I almost married a man who I think is evil..what kind of illness would cause him to do these things?

I found out that my ex-fiance told people that he had cancer and needed surgery, to get money. He went so far as to go into his place of employment and fake post-operative pain. He "borrowed" money from a guy who has severe physical disabilities, "borrowed" money from my mom and cousin, took a new pick-up from a dealer saying that he would get the money to him when the sale of his beef cattle went through(he told me he had traded an older truck and paid some cash for it...he owned no livestock) He in fact stole the truck, drove it across state lines with me on board, and abandoned the truck and I at a motel in Montana. He claimed that his best friend had died and he needed to go to the funeral. I was sick, so I did not go. He parked the truck behind the motel, and that was the last time I saw him. He stole my phone when he left, and i saw that he was roaming all over the eastern seaboard, not at a funeral in montana. I have picked over many of the days that we were together and as it turns out, he was very good at telling lies...and had everyone fooled...Is this illness or evil? Thank you all for your answers....as far as any charges are concerned, I think there are several people looking for him, but would prefer to take the law into their own hands. He forged my name on the title for my Ford Expedition and told the dealer that we had parted company...the dealer believed him when he said that he would give me my money. He did not even question the obvious forgery. I took the matter to the police but all they did was sort of shrug their shoulders and ask me what I thought they could do. Talk about frustrating! I would LOVE to see him on Oprah!! Gotta catch him first.... When I retell this story, people look at me as if I have lost my mind.. ...that hurts. It's like a bad movie.. Oprah has 11 pages online when punched in sociopath.....I read the posts there and half- expect them to mention his name....all sociopaths exhibit the same traits, or so it seems To Lioness....I wanted to give your answer the thumbs up but accidentally did the reverse...sorry

Resolved Question: Can more than four people share a motel room?

Me and a few of my classmates (about 12 people in total, including the chaperones (sp?), are planning on going on a five-day field trip to LA for this event, but obviously we're on a budget. So we want to get two motel rooms, and squeeze everyone in one room. Since we'll be out and rarely in the rooms, anyways, it doesn't really matter, but we checked their website and they said that no more than four people can share a room. One of my friends said that it was illegal, another one of my friends said that she and seven other of her friends shared one room while they were in Montana. So I'm a bit confused, and I'm one of those people who are strict on following the rules; sometimes more than the people who make them, so yeah. Please and thank you? :]

Resolved Question: What is the weirdest place you have ever slept at?

For me, inside a truck stop. When we were goin up to Canada for the rodeo, in Montana there was some big festival going on and there were NO hotel/motel rooms left and the truck was packed full so we couldn't sleep in there, and it was too cold to sleep in the bed of the truck, so we slept in one of the booth tables inside a truckstop restraunt.

Resolved Question: Requirements for Renting A Motel Room?

My step brother and I (He's 19, I'm 15) are going to visit family in Montana and we live in Michigan. We're driving, and we're wondering what the requirements would be for renting a motel room considering I am under aged and if we'd have any problem. Thank you. =]
