New York Motels News

Open Question: You ever have a perfect, romantic night -- are in such a daze -- that you forget you're not with your wife?

I am traveling to Buffalo on business by car (my classic El Camino) and had decided to take along my EF (Emotional Friend, about 21, female, completely platonic) because my wife takes no interest in my life or career, hates my car, and didn't want to go. I need an assistant, because this job is tricky -- and the drive is boring. (Have you ever been to upstate New York cow country?) Anyway, we pulled into Albany last night for a pit stop, all bleary-eyed, and I almost had to choke the clerk at Motel 6 because he kept insisting my EF reserved the hot-tub room with one bed, though I had seen her go online and book a room with two beds. This one was $19.99 more, to boot. I figured he was scamming us, but I was tired and relented. Well, we got in the room and it appears my EF did some research. See, I'd told her a while back that she looked just like the petite blond who was my girlfriend in high school, in the 80s, the last girlfriend I'd had before my wife. Anyway, we entered the room, and there were helium balloons everywhere -- in blue and yellow, my high school team color! She walked over to an old boom box and popped in a cassette -- a cassette! -- Shannon's "Let the Music Play." How did she know that was the tape my high school girlfriend left behind (in the El Camino)? In the mini-fridge were Olde English 40-ouncers, like we used to drink in high school, before they became "ghetto." How sweet, considering I went to a high school not far from Albany. She must've bribed the clerk to set up the room like this. After a few OE's with the EF, I started losing a sense of reality, and was so caught up in the mood and music -- and by this time the EF was wearing my varsity jacket (how'd she get that out of my attic, and get rid of the mothball smell?) along with (her) Liz Claiborne perfume -- that I looked into her eyes and thought I was in 1988, and it was the summer before I left for college, and had left my girlfriend behind. And in that unreality the EF became that girlfriend. And our eyes locked, and a moment seemed like over 20 years, and an alternate reality followed from there ... And a different house, and different kids, barking dogs and a white picket fence and growing old together, happy. You ever get caught up in a moment like that? Even though you're married, and your reality is already, sadly, set?

Resolved Question: I'm traveling to New York city and don't know where to stay. Help?

My partner and I are traveling to New York City on May 12, 13 and checking out on Friday May 14th, 2010. We would like to see 5th Ave, Statue of Liberty, Times Square and a bunch of gay bars and clubs. We are on a strict budget and only want to spend about $65-85 a night for a motel. Would it be wise for us to stay at nearby New Jersey for the lower cost of lodging rather than New York. And if we do stay in N.J. are there any trains or subway from N.J. that can take us from the motel to New York so I don't have to drive and find parking in the city. Can you give me any suggestions??? Also maybe a low cost motel that's close to a train or subway. Thanks very much!!! We're traveling from Cali and have never been to New York before.

Resolved Question: Trip across AMERICA!?

Any advice from Americans or anybody who has done anything like this would be brilliant, now let me explain! I am turning 40 this year and have decided to give myself the best present by fulfilling a life long dream of a road trip across America and need some help and advice from you people in the know! I plan on this trip lasting approximately six weeks. I would like to see the majority of big cities/well known tourist sites as well as a few lesser known tourist sites that I am hoping people on here will suggest. My budget at the moment is approx 4000GBP (this excludes flights there and back as these are being gifted to me by very generous friends) but obviously I will increase that if necessary, any ideas on how much I am looking at for one way car hire for six weeks, also clean and safe but not too flash hotels/motels and food/ general costs that I would need to consider? Also what is the best time of year to do this? I'm tied up May to Oct with commitments, but would outside of these months be as good? I am happy to drive this trip as I love driving but as a female alone would I be better doing this by train? (I can not even consider buses as I always travel sick on them) I plan to start in L.A. and finish in New York, would I better reversing this or any other ideas? ANY help and advice much appreciated, have a nice evening, Lucy (S.E. London)

Resolved Question: LGBT can i have ur suggestion plz? -i noticed i ranted too much, so it's long, sorry?

here's the gist of it... I want to have sex with this cute guy i went out on a date with... however... neither of us has a place to ourselves... we live in new york city, and i proposed to him going to a motel and each paying half for the room... however, i have never been in a motel b4 and i have no idea how much it would cost... i was wondering... if any of you are from nyc and have been in a motel before... do u know any cheap ones? would they charge more if we rent a 1 bedroom room for 2 person than if we did a 1 bedroom room for 1 person? and lastly, if you guys can give me any websites to cheap motels in new york city with prices on it, and also a phone # ... i would appreciate it. P.S. i tried looking up on yahoo motels in nyc but only sites for hotels came up... and they were like $120+ ... so not really interested in those.. then i found a website with a list of cheap motels/hotels... it was giving prices for as low as $12-20 ... but i wasn't sure whether that's true or not... it gave the option to make a reservation... but i couldn't find any contact information to make sure whether that's true or not... well... i was also wondering... lol.. if i call the motel and whatever to make sure about the prices that they may haev... since we may only want to rent an hour for a few hours... should i be honest with them and tell them i want to rent it to have sex for a few hours and i need them to give me the cheapest price possible for the few hours? and well what i had asked wasn't so much of suggestions... but i was wondering if you would know of any other places where we can have sex at without having to pay at all and if we do have to pay it would only be like $20 or something like that.... but i'm not interested in having sex in public places or in parks and such... so do u have any suggestions for me to have sex for free somewhere? don't suggest having sex at our places when we have a free place... we have different circumstances... but neither of us can host... ever.. it's impossible rent a room for a few hours**** brian u shyt head i may be a whore... but i ain't having sex with u sl@t what the hell is up with the reaction? none of u ever have sex?

Resolved Question: When planning a long road trip with my EF, should I let her pick the motels or should I take that chore?

I have to go to Buffalo for a job and, upon hearing it was "Buffalo? WTF! I'd rather die by drowning in a cesspool!" by my wife, decided to just go it alone. But it's a long ride, and my EF (Emotional Friend, about 21, coaches Pop Warner league cheerleaders and almost made the cheerleading squad for a professional arena football team, completely platonic) offered to go along if I covered the pay she'd lose calling in at the Verizon Store. About $300. Frankly, upstate New York in the winter is a wasteland, and I could use someone to talk with in the El Camino or else I'll zone out and end up in a cow field. It's worth the expense. I probably need to get a motel midway there, say Albany, then one in Buffalo, and then I should get the job done in a night or two and head back. I'm looking for motels under $50/night -- two beds, of course. Even though we have no romantic or sexual situation going on, I'm thinking it would be gentlemanly for me to let her pick the motels; as long as she comes in under budget. She has said she wants to do this, and I tend to pick dives, anyway, being that I am not concerned about personal safety. Do you see any problems with letting an EF pick the motels? As a wife, would you care about that?
