On Sundays the central park is always full of young people who meet for picnics under the shady trees. For the more active, there are opportunities to play golf or tennis. Those who enjoy water-sports can go fishing or swimming. You will probably want to hire a yacht or motor cruiser for the day to reach the best locations.

If you want to venture further afield you might hire a car and take of to see the sleepy villages in the Ohio countryside, or drive to the coast to while away the afternoon in one of the many secluded areas along the coastline.

Voting Question: If my jail sentence was deferred until 11/25/09 can I still go to jail for violations of probation?

(180 DAYS SUSPENDED, DEFERRED UNTIL 11/25/09,ALL PRIOR ORDERS) If my jail sentence was deferred until 11/25/09 can I still go to jail for violations of probation? I am still on probation until May 29th 2010. And can you get violated for thing such as: grandmother calling (they speak once every 3 weeks) and telling him I have been kicked out of her house, and have been hanging around the wrong people, hanging out at motels like i used to, and have no where to go? im 19 and live in mentor ohio if this makes any difference wouldnt it invade my rights if i was sent to jail? ive done nothing illeagle no real proof see him on all my scheduled appointments One time he added on 6 days to my 30 day sentence when he found i had nowhere safe to go, and kept me there until i finded a shelter found* and I wouldnt consider myself homeless. In his eyes I am. I live with friends and stay in motels.

Voting Question: NEED HELP ASAP!!!!ohio law regarding shutting off of utilities in apartments?

heres my situation: my husband lost his job by way of layoffs about 2-3 months ago. he was able to obtain unemployment benefits;but not till late october.so because of that we were unable to pay our rent for october and november. we now owe the management company that handles our apartment and the entire set of townhomes around us almost $2,000 that we cannot pay (the rent was $850-which includes utilities, along with two $40 late charges.) so since the utilities are included with the rent, the management company shut off our power this morning;which i wouldnt mind,if we didnt have our 9 month old daughter. we obviously need to think about our daughter and keeping her warm,so we got a motel for the night.(yes i realize we need to keep a roof over her head. we have a new apartment with lower rent already lined up but we cant move in for a few weeks so we have no choice but to stay where we are right now.) tomorrow morning we are going to community action and if they can help us, they will pay the past due rent along with possibly 3 months rent, which we really dont need but they can also help us with the deposit on the new place.if the past due rent is paid we will be okay. even if they approve us for the assistance and cant help us with it immediately, what happens is they will call the landlord to let him know they are helping us with the rent, then he calls the management company who will then turn the power back on. so;with all that said here's my question: IN OHIO;IS IT LEGAL FOR THE LANDLORD AND/OR THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY TO SHUT OFF OUR POWER AND/OR WATER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT PAID OUR RENT? IS THERE A LAW OR STATUTE THAT PREVENTS THEM FROM DOING SO IF WE HAVE A CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 1 LIVING WITH US? i know in massachusetts you can apply for utility protection but i dont know if theres something like that in ohio criticizing remarks would definitely not be welcome and i will automatically give you a thumbs down for it. that or i will report you for abuse we had a 6 month lease the is already up but in the lease agreement it stipulates that if we decided to stay after the lease was up it would then turn into month-to-month. basically what im getting out of all this is they are shutting off the power in an effort to get us out faster so they dont have to go through eviction proceedings

Resolved Question: Question about impounded animal?

Ok, my husband and I went to NC and Ohio a few weeks ago. We spent the night in Illinois, at a Motel 6, on the way back on Oct. 31st. Please read the entire thing, or don't bother answering. Calling me names and all that is totally inappropriate and will be reported and only proves you to be stupid and ignorant. Today we got a letter in the mail saying this from the Winnebago County Animal Services in Rockford, Ill. That's where we stayed. "An animal identified as yours was impounded at Winnebago County Animal services on 11/01/09. Under Illinois State Statutes your animal will be held for a stray period of four (4) business days during which time you may reclaim your animal." Then they give the hours to come in and reclaim it. "You have until the close of business on 11/07/09 to reclaim your animal or to sign an ownership release. Please provide proof of current rabies vaccination and and registration, as well as proof of ownership at the time you reclaim your animal. If you fail to reclaim your animal or you sign an ownership release by the above date3, your animal will become the property of Winnebago County Animal Services to be disposed of as we deem necessary, to include either adoption or euthanasia." Ok, here's the deal. Whatever animal they got isn't ours. I called them and left a message saying that. Our two dogs traveled with us, and we still have them. Is there anything else I can do? And will this screw us up in adopting from shelters in the future? We are into adopting from rescues. My biggest question is..how in the world could this have happened? I guess I'll have to go to my vet tomorrow and have them fax proof to Illinois that this wasn't my animal. Yes, both of my dogs are licensed in my state. Actually they are city licenses. Oops! I meant we stayed at a Motel 6 in Rockford, Ill. Not at the Winnebago County Animal Services..oops. Yes, sometimes having an animal taken in by a pound/shelter will screw one up in being able to adopt in the future. To clarify..I CANNOT go to the pound there. It's in Illinois, and we live in North Dakota. It's not like it's a 20 minute drive. We're talking a few states away. The animal was turned in in Illinois. We live in ND. Only stayed in Illinois one night on the way back. Yes, I'm sure it's real. Has the state seal, gives the address and phone number. Yes, I'm sure it's real. Has the state seal, gives the address and phone number. The only thing I can think of is Motel 6 might have turned the animal in, thinking it was ours. Khayos, just what are you talking about? You must have meant your rant for someone else. But as for emails, I don't think you can report them. Just block whoever is sending them to you. Ok, I think I remember you. What I sent wasn't hate mail. It was information. And yes, I got the right person. But I don't allow for anyone to email me generally, because I've been called so many names, this, that, and the other thing. I even say that on my profile. You said that every living creature wants to reproduce, and I sent you facts stating that wasn't true.
