...state,kidnapped two more people. The lady they kidnapped in Oregon was a motel clerk and the others was a guy that had a tow truck and his sister in law. It ended at a road Block and the tow truck driver jumped out and shot one guy. His sister in law was killed in the shoot out.

Resolved Question: Why are so many motels owned by Indians?

Not American Indians, but families from India. I recently stayed at a Budget Inn in Florida that was owned by an Indian family; then in Oregon stayed at a Motel 6, Days Inn, and two other cheap motels that were all owned by Indian families. Five out of five, spread across 3,000 miles, would be an incredible coincidence. There are three responses so far but still no answer. There must be some cultural reason why Indians are driven to the hospitality industry.

Im on a strict budget and Im looking for a motel that going to run me only About $100.00 per night. Also I would like to know some info from people who lived in or have traveled there for vacation. My parents are graciously housing an adult friend of theirs who is from Oregon, up to Alaska to work at the mines. To my knowledge he doesn't pay rent (and when he does, it's $300... WAY less then it should be, it'd cost him more to stay at a sleazy motel!) and he is basically getting on everyone's nerves.. mostly because his lack of rent and usage of stuff around the house (coffeemaker, shower, sometimes food, etc) Mom and Dad have done a poor job at conveying their wishes to be paid rent on time, monthly, but here is MY problem. I always knew he didnt care for Piper, my 2 year old Aussie, and prefer the little 3 month puppy, Lacey. Piper barks at him a lot, so i "understand" why. HOWEVER last night i was in my room, and i heard him so i looked down the hall. I saw him pick up the puppy and KICK AT Piper to get her to go away. I was shocked and didnt say anything. If i catch him again, I need a single, short and to the point message conveying that he is not allowed to kick at my dogs. Sometimes I wish Piper would bite, because he would deserve it for that. It was not enough to be actual "abuse" but that's not the point. Kicking at my dogs is unacceptable. Parents are lame, they won't say anything because they are pushovers. It's time for me to tke matters into my own hands, starting with the dogs. Also, when he plays with the puppy and Piper comes up to play, he is very rough when he shoves her away. He is just rough in general with her.

Sticky Situation!!! Bought a commercial business on leased land with 3 other people. Formed an LLC, took out a mortgage to buy that business ($2.5m mortgage owed). Behind 1 month on the land lease payment. Behind 1 month on the mortgage payment. We all signed a guaranty for the lease and the mortgage. Here is my personal situation I live in Oregon and my wife did not sign anything. I think this is a non community state correct? My assets: Motel 1 Value $2m (Mortgage #1 = $800k, Lien #1 = $2m) Inc property owned by me and my wife. Motel 2 Value $6.5m (Mortgage #1 = $4.9m, Lien #1 = $2m) 2 LLC's 1 owned by my wife, the other owned by myself. Property has been leased out and has 49 years remaining on that lease. Leased company is owned by me, my wife, and son. Motel 3 Value $1m (Mortgage #1 = $800k) Owned in Partnership with my brother. House Value $600k. Mortgage $500k Cars: Maybe total $10k Various Credit Card/Credit lines owing: $200k I do not want to lose the other real estate assets or my home. I just want to walk away from that lease and that mortgage. Can a judge force sale of my assets if they are worth nothing with the current liens and mortgages currently owed?

Looking at the website, the best route I'm thinking of is taking the 'Oregon Trail' from Cape Cod area until Chicago, then just doing Route 66 until I get to LA. Then just basically winging my way back. I'm 17 so this won't be for a few years yet, but what/are there any rules r.e. travelling in the US. Would I have to get a visa, depending on how long I was there? And I had wanted to do the whole ''stop at a motel/hotel and stay there, get up the next day and go'' type of thing. Resolved Question: Anyone heard of hourly hotels for parents who need private time?

My husband and I have two children....11 and 17 months..and we share our room with the younger one until we get a 3-bedroom. Time to make love and have some romance is very difficult to come by in our home. We live in Portland, Oregon and are tempted to ask some of the nicer hotels if they offer half-day or hourly rates so my husband and I can "get away". We cannot leave the young one over night yet. Anyone heard of such a thing...I mean..besides the seedy motels used by professionals, so to speak?!

Resolved Question: Is it dangerous to sleep by the road side in the USA?

I'm planning on making a road trip with two freinds from Oregon to New Hampshire next autumn and were thinking about hiring a camper van to drive and sleep in for the journey. Were wondering if its safe to sleep by the roadside or in car parks in the US or should we do it in a car and stay in Motels? Also if theres anything else you think we need to know that would be great as we're coming from England and I havent been to the US since I was about 9. Thankyou

Please help! I stayed at a very nice cozy motel on the oregon coast, northern part, but cant remember the name and really want to go back. It had an ocean view, and jacuzzi tubs in each room that you had to fill yourself, directions said, fill halfway wait an hour for water to warm up and fill the rest of the way. It had a fireplace in each room as well, most were gas but a few were wood they were in the process of converting the units all to gas. The jacuzzi was in the same room as the bed, it was like a little studio, there was a huge window on the back of the tub with the ocean view. I really don't remember much. They had an e-mail list but I think I wrote my e-mail wrong because I never heard from them. It was really inexpensive too, like 100 a night during the off season, and walking distance to food. If you know the place or can recommend something similar please let me know. I really want to take my boyfriend there. We live in WA but I have to drive down to drop off my son for a week to see family and thought we could detour by the coast on the way back and stay the night. I would like somewhere reasonable, under 150, with a view and would really like a jacuzzi or such in room. Prefer Newport or north, as we will be driving back to WA from salem. Thank you so much! So the only answer I have gotten so far is of absolutly no help. I know figuring out the exact hotel may be hard that is why I added the part about recomendations... Oscar aparently skipped that. I do remember it was at least 2 floors maybe more and I recall it having more that one building, one with a view one without. Also I remember the driveway was down a hill... Not a lot to work with.
