Resolved Question: In the state of Tennessee, does anyone know where i can get information on renters rights.?

My daughter pays $800.00 a month rent and has her rent paid up thru April. The pipes in the ceilin burst and the ceilin got wet and fell in. Now the water is turned off and the landlord said that she wants fans to sit in the ceilin and blow the joist and wood in attic out before she puts in a new ceilin and fixes the pipes so therfore she wont have any water for 2 weeks. All her heat if goin out the ceilin because of the hole in it where it fell in. Does the landlord have to provide her a motel room or something where she has water and dont sit ther in the cold because the temperture here is goin to be below zero this week. Can anyone help me with this information about landlords because I dont think she is doin my daughter right. She cant use the bathroom and flush the tiolet and has no water to take a bath or brush her teeth. So please help me with this info if u can. Thank you and have a good day.

Resolved Question: How much would it cost to travel to the USA from the UK, then several places in the US?

I'd like to spend two months in the USA traveling around it. I'm currently 17 so can go next summer when I'm 18. I want to fly to LA, Texas (San Antonio, Dallas and Austin), Hartford, Nashville Tennessee, Washington and New york And possibly up to Canada as well. SPending about 3 - 4 days in each, taking buses and Planes to the other places. How much would this about cost? As well as money for food, eating out, hotels/motels, bus fares, plane tickets to places in the US, possibly a visit to the Warner Brothers studios and leisure and buying presents or whatever. Cheers xx

Resolved Question: If is it true that for every positive advancement in our culture that benefits 90% there is 10% that it hurts?

Should we focus on the 10% that progress hurts and not progress? A new 4 lane thruway goes across the state in 1955. While it is popular for 90% of the state, it hurts the motel and restaurant owners of the road it replaces. Are Indians better off now or back when they could live as they did in 1491? Did the Tennessee Valley Authority improve everyone's life but those who lost their homes? Can't we have progress without hurting the minority of 10%? The average life expectancy of American Indians at the time of Lewis and Clark was 15 years . Somehow I think life is much better for them now. People can choose failure if they wish. Many people do.

Resolved Question: What is your opinion on this beginning?

The city lights fade in the distance, a soon to be distant memory. I slump down in my seat and let the sound of Framing Hanley fill my ears. I blast the volume to drown out the oldies. My poor Zune only goes up to 20. It does the job for now though. I am not even upset this time; it’s that time of year. Mom feels trapped in a relationship or in a job and we pack up and move. In my sixteen years of existence I have moved twelve times. I moved from Colorado when mom left dad at age three. There was a move at least once a year since. Mom has taken me with her to Oklahoma, New Mexico, California, Washington, South Dakota, Arkansas, Kentucky, Kansas, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and now from New York. I knew we were headed south and that was about it. The night grows from dusk to dark to black. I guess mom has decided to make it an all-nighter. I close my eyes and drift away to my dreams. Here there is an island where mom cannot escape so I get to stay. I have friends that are not from the Internet and a place that I can call home not just a house. When my eyes flutter open the sun is brightening on the horizon. Mom nudges me and points out the window. We’ve hit South Carolina. I wonder if this is our stop but mom says she just needs a nap. We pull in at a motel and mom checks us in. Six hours later we are on the road again. I have the taste of chili in my mouth from lunch. Another day passes like this and we have now hit Texas. We pull down a street that says Norton. Mom stops in front of a small yellow house and parks in the driveway. “Here we go kiddo.” “Could we have gotten further from New York?” “Yeah Mexico.” “Ha. Do I get own bathroom?” “Own room, bathroom, and study room.” “Awesome.” “Cut the sarcasm and get out.” I'm 16 and write like crazy. I did check a map you can go from NY start going 2 VA the down to SC then hang a left and go through GA, AL, MS, LA, then wala TX

Resolved Question: ROAD TRIP QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE TRAVELED OUT WEST FROM THE EAST COAST?

Some friends and I are planning a road trip to Santa Cruz CA. We looked at a map and looked at I think it was 40 and rt. 70 and one is a way going through Texas and Tennessee and all that and then the other was a way going up towards Colorado and Utah and going down towards Nevada and Arizona in which those are two places we would like to visit. Maybe we could go one way and come back another. Does anyone know of a good route or a quick route? Thanks! Would be coming from va/md/dc area. And we're planning for next month, probably a week or more. What to see well, maybe some friends along the way if we go the utah colorado way. New mexico, vegas(we don't plan on staying long just a few hours because we are staying 1 night in AZ with friends) Then to Ca hollywood, la, the whiskey a gogo, santa cruz, we don't really plan on staying in motels just driving and sleeping in the vehicle. And when necessary maybe a motel or campground.

Resolved Question: Road trip from Oregon to Orlando Florida, travel tips?

I'm driving from Oregon to Orlando Florida first week of May to be there to view the next space shuttle launch from the NASA causeway, it's about 3000 miles. I know California & Nevada pretty well, and am comfortable traveling throught them, but Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, etc. on the way to and including Florida is a whole other ball of wax. I'm looking forward to it, but what should I be prepared for as far as weather, and tips for places to stay on the way? I like small, quiet, intimate, clean, safe, independent & interesting motels. I'm older and disabled. Not interested in parties or theme parks. Suggestions for interesting rest stops on the way? Thanks in advance

Resolved Question: TENNESSEANS! I'm looking for a cheap motel near a greyhound bus station, in any town in Tennessee?

Could this be your town? I'm travelling across the country, and am looking for somewhere to spend a night in Tennessee, just basically for sleep and a shower, nothing fancy. I need to be within walking distance (preferably) or a short taxi ride to the greyhound station, and it needs to be CHEAP. Anyone know of a place like this?
